Friday 19th Oct @ 7pm in Cruiser'sA platform for younger musicians (13+) to perform. This event will include proficient teenage musicians, singers, dancers and storytellers from all parts of Ireland and promises to be a 'mighty gathering'. The standard and quality of music from this generation is inspiring. The performances will be followed by a session.

Sean-nós Dancing CompetitionsSaturday 20th October @ 4pm, Mayfly HotelThe venue for the competition is the Mayfly Hotel and registration is from 3:30pm. The competition will commence at 4:00pm. There are separate competitions for male and female and the age categories are U9, U12, U15, U18 and Senior. Music will be provided by Tom and Stephen Doherty. A fantastic evening of entertainment!

The Rambling HouseSun 21st Oct @ 2pm, the Theatre, Foxford Woollen Mills
“Come listen to Joe Mc Gowan recount the days of the ‘rambling house’ It was here that local news was exchanged, ghost and fairy stories told and the old lore passed on before the arrival of ‘mass media’. The door was always open or at least unlocked. Dances and card games passed away the long winter nights. Everyone felt welcome and a visitor never had to knock: they just walked in”.

Joe Mc Gowan is a native of Mullaghmore, Co. Sligo. His short stories have featured on local and national radio programmes such as RTE1s Sunday Miscellany. He is author of several books: In the Shadow of Benbulben; Inishmurray: Island Voices; Constance Markievicz: The People’s Countess; Sligo: Land of Destiny; A Bitter Wind; Echoes of a Savage Land; The Hidden People, and most recently the classic Sligo Folk Tales.
