Foxford and the Local Area

The picturesque town of Foxford lies on the River Moy, a salmon-fishing river, close to  Loughs Conn and Cullin and between the Nephin and Ox Mountains.  It is the ideal location for a relaxing, stress free break away from the routines of working life.  A visit to the Foxford Woollen Mills is a must for any visitor to the town.  The warmth of the Foxford blanket is equally matched by the warmth of its people who are always ready to welcome a visitor to their midst. You can choose from its many traditional pubs, restaurants as well as B&B's and Guesthouses.  Foxford has much to entertain its visitors with plenty music, outdoor activities, visitor centre, fishing and walking.
Foxford is 10 miles from the shopping towns of Ballina and Castlebar is 14 miles away.  It is only 25 miles from Ireland West Airport Knock and has a railway station served by trains between Dublin and Ballina.
The trail for the Wild Atlantic Way can be taken up in Ballina (10 mins by car) or Westport (40 mins by car).
