The picturesque town of Foxford lies on the River Moy, a salmon-fishing river, close to Loughs Conn and Cullin and between the Nephin and Ox Mountains. Foxford is 10 miles from the shopping towns of Ballina and Castlebar is 14 miles away. It is only 25 miles from Ireland West Airport Knock and has a railway station served by trains between Dublin and Ballina.
The trail for the Wild Atlantic Way can be taken up in Ballina (10 mins by car) or Westport (40 mins by car).
